J|B Box was founded by Jessica Donley and Brooke Hatfield, two MS warriors.

J|B Box launched April 2019!

Jessica’s story

My name is Jessica; since my diagnosis in 2013, I have learned that hearing those words “you have Multiple Sclerosis” was only the beginning of a journey that would lead me down a path filled with fear of the unknown, anxiety over the things beyond my control and the hope and love offered to me by a community of others that face the same struggles each and every day. Each time a medication dose or drug has changed, I have felt the heaviness of uncertainty, the frustration of instability, and the stress that comes with the financial impact of these medications.

I was there, in that place—when the JB Box was born. I had just received news that I would begin a new medication that would require a 6 to 8-hour infusion. I was overwhelmed, feeling alone and scared as I faced the unknown. I was lucky to have someone to reach out to who had been in my shoes. Brooke offered me a lifeline. Her support meant I was not alone. The suggestions she offered helped me prepare for my long day, easing some of my fear and anxiety. In this revelation, the purpose behind the Just Breath Box found life.

Today, through JB Box, the JB girls are proud to offer help and support to others within the infusion treatment community. We strive to make your infusion day not a day about your disease but a day about you.

If I have learned anything in my journey, everybody has a story—something they struggle with in life. Our mission is to give back the support we have received by helping others in their own battles to offer hope and encouragement when faced with the unknown. And to always remind them to Just Breathe 🎗

brooke’s Story

My name is Brooke & I’ve been an MS warrior for over a decade. My journey has been all over the map. I’ve been on multiple treatments to no treatment back to treatment. I am stubborn and passionate. I don’t take myself too seriously, but I’ve learned to take my MS seriously. Ten years ago, the treatment options for Multiple Sclerosis were limited, with 4 medications to choose from. Fast forward to today, there are over a dozen treatment options, with some even claiming to slow down the progression of this often disabling disease aggressively. Now, I take an infusion every 6 months for 6-8 hours instead of injecting myself daily.

While this brings a glimmer of hope that treatment is advancing, it still brings a great deal of anxiety. I know that means more insurance calls, lab work, monitoring, authorizations, financial pressure, and lots of follow-ups.
Sitting in that chair on infusion day is both a relief and a mix of emotions. It can feel empowering and helpless all at the same time! Weird, right?! You’re telling me! That is why the JB girls, Jessica and I, are so passionate about the Just Breathe(JB) Box! The JB box allows those receiving IV treatment to get some entertainment, goodies, and relaxation. The most important reminder we want to leave these warriors with is to JUST BREATHE & know you are not in this alone🖤
